Heritage
Heritage building and roof works are an important aspect of our construction projects. We preserve the cultural and historical significance of older structures when undertaking construction on listed buildings, it is imperative to carefully consider the building’s historical value and significance. This includes preserving the original design, features, and materials as much as possible.
Roof works on heritage buildings are particularly important, being the fundamental aspect of a building’s structure and aesthetics. we use materials and techniques that are in line with the original construction methods, as well as meeting modern safety and durability standards. This may involve sourcing traditional materials such as slate, Welsh slate, clay tiles, locally sourced quarried materials and employing skilled craftsmen to carry out the work in a manner that respects the building’s heritage.
We work in close collaboration with conservationists and local authorities to ensure that any alterations or repairs are carried out in a way that respects the historical integrity of the building.
We have been shortlisted consistently for heritage projects at the NRHA (National Rail Heritage Awards) for the past 10 years, resulting in two best in category blue plaques. This is a significant achievement and a testament to our commitment to preserving and promoting our rail heritage.
